What is Culinary Medicine?

• A hands-on approach that focuses on practical strategies you can implement directly into clinical practice.
• Join us for fun and interactive learning, recipe testing, and a family-style meal using budget-friendly and accessible ingredients along with cooking techniques for all skill levels.
• This session is designed for primary care providers who are interested in integrating nutrition education into their practice.

Registration and Cancellation

• Space is limited to 15 per session.
• In the event there are less than 10 registered per session, only one session will be delivered on October 1 or 2.

Learning Objectives

1. Translate the current evidence and common misconceptions on dietary fats and fibre into practical culinary guidance that supports healthy child development and overall diet quality.
2. Identify potential challenges and barriers to adopting healthy eating patterns with effective strategies to facilitate a patient's integration of therapeutic dietary patterns into their (family) lifestyle.
3. Prepare a nourishing kid-friendly meal according to Canada’s Food Guide (2019) that is suitable for dyslipidemia.   
4. Recognize credible and evidenced informed nutrition knowledge translation strategies and available supports including Registered Dietitians (RDs).
